The Friends Board of Directors hold monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 5pm. The meetings are open to the public. The Friends also hold an annual meeting in January. For more information visit the Friends Connection Calendar.

Earth Capades weaves comedy and circus skills (juggling, magic and music) with lessons about Earth Science and positive environmental choices to demonstrate that every day is Earth Day. Families will learn and be entertained by the Earth Capades crew! Fun and educational for one and all.
Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Special Toddler and Preschoolers Yoga Storytime
The Ripon Library will be having Special Toddler and Preschoolers Yoga Storytime Tuesday, Jun. 2, 1:00 p.m. (Tuesdays, June 2, 9, 16, 23, 1:00 p.m.). Special Toddler and Preschooler Yoga Storytime will be presented by certified Yoga instructor Leyna Roget on the first four Tuesdays of June at 1:00 p.m. Join the fun and activity as Leyna blends stories with simple yoga exercises well-suited for little ones. Free. Limited space, so come a little early!

Fratello Marionettes Ripon Library Wednesday, Jun. 10, 3:00 p.m.
Summer Reading continues with a mesmerizing marionette puppet show featuring hero "Aladdin". The Fratello Marionettes have traveled the globe, entertaining young and old with their hand-crafted puppets. A memorable afternoon's entertainment is guaranteed! Tickets are handed out 1/2 hour before showtime.
Super Hero Comic Craft
Come to the Ripon Library Thursday, Jun. 11, 2:00 p.m. and learn how you can take your old comic books, cut them up, and decoupage the comic book art on bookends and flower pots (you get to choose an herb to plant in the pot as well)! Easy, fun and a cool addition to your decor. Snacks provided.

If it crawls, slithers or creeps chances are, Python Ron will bring it along! This program is both fun and educational as Python Ron engages and teaches the audience all about these exotic creatures. This show is a real favorite, so we will have two presentations at 3:00 and 4:30 p.m. Tickets will be handed out 1/2 hour before showtime.
Hero Scavenger Hunt and Super Cookie Contest
Thursday, Jun. 25, 2:00 p.m.
Reward your efforts to complete the library hero scavenger hunt with a delicious cookie decorating contest. Who will find all the answers? Who will create the most heroic cookie? Clearly this will take brains and lots of frosting.

All About Baby
Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. at the Ripon Library, special baby storytime for newborn to 18 months old and their caregivers, includes simple rhymes, activities, and books to encourage intellectual and social growth.
Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. storytime for preschoolers and their parents/caregivers features stories, songs, fingerplays, movement and lots of fun. Lasts approximately 30 minutes.
Beginning Yoga and Pilates
Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. Certified instructor guides students through easy yoga and pilates movements in a one hour session.
Family Film Matinee
On the first Thursday of each month at 3:30 p.m.,
come to the library for the Family Film Matinee! The film will be shown on the big screen in the library's community room. Popcorn is provided, free of charge!

Book Discussion Group for Adults
What could be better than reading and enjoying a book? Sharing ideas, perceptions and thoughts about the book with others who have read it!
Come on the second Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m.!
Our book discussion group is a thoughtful and lively exchange based on what we have read that month. The discussion is lead by the librarian and lasts about one hour.
It's Great to Have Friends
Everywhere you turn, there is news about the budget challenges facing the Stockton San Joaquin Library system which includes the Ripon Memorial Library. Articles have been written that include the possibility of a reduction in service hours, privatizing and layoffs.
While there is much uncertainty, the Friends continue to support, raise funds and advocate for the Ripon Memorial Library. Since the 1970's, the Friends have carried out our mission statement which includes year round support for the Ripon Memorial Library. While the economy has dealt community libraries a tough hand, Friends groups have continued to step up and provide help when it is needed the most. As an advisory group, the Ripon Friends continues to ensure that our work does not stop and are continuing to provide funding for programs, materials and educational resources that are requested from the Ripon community. Our commitment to our mission and to the Ripon community is the driving force behind our keep moving forward efforts. Changes are sure to come but the Friends are committed to providing all that the community has come to expect as our members have empowered us to do.

Due to limited seating in our Library Community Room, free tickets for our Special Events & Performances will be required. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis beginning ½ hour before each show.
